what

we did

the whole residence is like an escape – a home away from home.

inspired by the luxury mansions of beverly hills, ca, we designed this family villa in the spanish colonial architectural style, and a parisian, rustic yet minimalist interior design style. with a special focus on landscaping, wrought iron gates and main door design, the villa is striking even from a distance. a glass dome retrofitted with a steel structure acts as a skylight, bringing natural light into the home. a large, majestic chandelier hangs from the structure, bringing ambient lighting to the entire space at night. all around the house, the white interior walls have a frame molding, adding that je ne sais quoi that makes everything look upscale.

everything is levelled: on the ground floor, the living and dining areas are on one level, and the tv room, kitchen, home office, and other ancillary service rooms on another level. upstairs, two bedrooms and a seating area on the landing are on slightly separate levels, with another half floor up for the master bedroom, and a last floor for the guest bedroom. each room is carefully styled with a mix of neutrals, from white/offwhite, to grey and wood.

there are plenty of flea market finds, faded turkish kilim rugs and vintage pieces – moving from space to space, we aimed to wow. the backyard is a charming space, with plenty of greenery to resemble a secret garden, and a pool and poolhouse. the poolhouse walls are covered in wood salvaged from moving crates, and these were painted white.

what

we did

surrounded with beautiful things, and engulfed in good juju and love.

the color palette is reiterated on each floor in different ways, tying them all together to create a harmonic balance. the furniture pieces are carefully curated to blend in with the client’s favorite collected pieces. a warm meditation and chill out area on the top floor sets the tone, with royal blue ceilings and burnt reddish orange walls, and cozy floor seating with fairy lights above. to get to the bedroom floor, one descends a few steps and is met with a fluffy white bed sitting on a jute rug overlaid with a vintage turkish rug.

the accent pieces are a set of carved drawer side tables, golden swivel wall sconces and framed astronomical images. after descending a dramatic staircase with ceiling high rope handles, one arrives at a bohemian abode, decorated with a blush pink sofa, a set of marble coffee tables, a flower rattan chair, and colorful berber baskets. a custom designed chaise lounge sits by the window, next to an organic wooden work desk. plants hang from macramé holders and a feature wall is filled with a collection of beautiful wall hangings.

what

we did

it’s a hippie, bohemian abode that’s all about peace and love.

this eclectic two-bedroom apartment is all about comfort and style. almost everything is sourced from the couple’s travels abroad and tells a story. the entryway wall is a diy project where a cement finish look is achieved using different grey paint colors and strokes. the chest of drawers - a bachelor pad salvage – is integrated into this home by the addition of funky knobs collected from goa, lisbon and california. personal artwork, books and sculptures make for a stylish shelfie, and a diy wall quote adorns the wall.

almost every wall is covered in handmade macramé wall hangings, dreamcatchers, and art or graphic prints. the deep blue-grey wall paint adds that gypsy style, along with the raw wooden tables, mantelpiece and vintage dining chairs. it’s also all about patterns, with african mudcloth, chevron and cactus print fabric. the place is inspired by music, books and art – even the multifunctional room doubles as a study and a music room.

what

we did

it’s magic, she’s magic.

a design style that’s a mix of grace and alchemy, with clean white walls and a high ceiling to invite healing and a sense of connection to the divine, balancing dark wooden elements that currently exist in the room and tying them into the design style through majestic colored accents.

magenta completes the chakric circuit, by joining the crown and base chakras together. it is known as the color of the eighth chakra, and the connection to it reveals our divine mission. purple represents creativity and spiritual awareness. blue is for soothing the soul and symbolizes self-expression. green is everywhere in different shades, from emerald to forest, and is the point of balance between deep earth and elevated reality, and symbolizes harmony. gold is both solar and sacral. as rumi once wrote, “your essence is gold hidden in dust. to reveal its splendor, you need to burn in the fire of love.” red is for rootedness and grounding.

the spiritual, divine bohemian is celebrated through the combination of furniture and accessory pieces, which include leather, glass, vintage kilim, gold coated steel, agate crystal, raw wood, feathers, plants, macramé and rattan. the coziness of the room is achieved through carefully placing objects and artwork on the walls and filling the space with textures, patterns and plants.

the coastal bohemian: minimalist meets boho on the seashore

with a vision to take full advantage of their expansive backyard, the family engaged us to dream up the perfect blend of chill out zones, patio seating, barbecue and dining spaces, and kids play area. blending wood, rattan, earthy ceramics and concrete with nature’s greenery and sand, we gave the whole space a light and airy feeling.
